The museum is situated in a historic building that immediately evokes a sense of reverence and curiosity. The interior is thoughtfully organized, with exhibits that chronicle the African American journey from ancient African civilizations to contemporary achievements. The layout is both accessible and engaging, making it easy to navigate through the various exhibits.

Kyler, our tour guide was exceptional. She was absolutely amazing. She has a passion for history, which she releases in her love for history at every level! She shared a world of history, knowledge, and research with us! I will cherish this lifetime experience. Her internship at the Apex museum adds so much value, knowledge, and understanding to History, Slavery and the Door of No Return!!! The East Central Dekalb Seniors love you, and we are so proud of the young lady who will represent our future!!! Thank you, Kyler and Apex, for selecting an exceptional intern for your program!!! This was an amazing place. I am glad I found it. We took our 4 children here to learn more about African Americans' history. It was not overwhelming for them. They did have a lot of questions during our visit. Which is why I brought them there: to open their minds and to learn more. They learned so much! We will be back!

Very informative and uplifting. Stop by and see a different historical perspective of African American history. With an emphasis on African origins and African contributions to the World.

This was a great tour. Kyla, our tour guide, told us a unique story about her college research and how it connected to her lineage. It was powerful! It was the best part of the tour. The museum should add her research paper to their collection. Everyone should go. Some parts may be too for some, but it's worth it. It's an education that a textbook could never teach. The document behind the statues are real.

Museum is extremely old and has never been updated. The video, exhibits, and other things were put in during the 90s and never changed. We were also told many factually inaccurate historical details while on our tour. It is also odd that since opening (in the early 1990’s) they have been trying to collect funds for a better museum. However, it’s obvious they can’t even keep up with what they have. Update your exhibits and facts and this would be 100% an awesome museum.

Such a hidden treasure! Also, the staff was so welcoming and full of information!! I'm so glad we had an opportunity to visit and we will certainly be coming back for the full guided tour! So incredibly important that we know where we came from but how far we need to strive to go. Thank you for this space to reflect!

This museum is so underrated. Its a wonderful, informative and serene museum with lots of history. Its a well-thought and organized museum and one can easily spend ~1.5 hours there. Must recommended.
