B.Simone Is Finding Happy For The Over 30 Crowd
For some, getting to your 30s can be pressurized. Many feel the need to advance in their careers, enter into stable and long-term relationships, or possibly marriage, have kids and have a plethora of self-imaged goals. However, your will for your life doesn’t always go as planned or timed.
360 Baseline was on the scene this past Wednesday for BounceTV’s new original series, Finding Happy! The show stars Instagram influencer and actress B. Simone as she navigates living life, finding love, and lot more in the city of Atlanta. This also marks Simone’s debut as a lead actress on a network. Not bad for the influencers of today.
BounceTV, an Atlanta-based broadcast company is fine-tuning its original programming tailored for audiences of color. In this case, we see a show that’s giving vitality and reality to the 30+ crowd.

Simone starts as Yaz Carter who discovers how unhappy she is on her 36th birthday. She’s a bit unfulfilled at work at a media company in Atlanta, the biological clock is approaching, and her on-and-off boyfriend doesn’t prioritize her on her birthday.
However, in a turn of events, Yaz’s mom (played by Angela Gibbs, daughter of Marla Gibbs 227), throws Yaz a birthday party despite her resistance. After bringing out a baby-shaped cake intended for a baby shower, she becomes triggered and destroys the cake. When Yaz’s meltdown moment is recorded and goes viral, she begins the journey towards her own happiness.
The show also stars Living Single alum Kim Coles who walked the red carpet with former co-star, Terrence C. Carson. Former NFL player Stevie Baggs Jr also appears on the show’s debut.
Coles gave praise to showrunner and writer, Kendra Jo, saying,
“I love that one African American woman’s job was to create the entire arc of the show,” she said. “Each character came from her head and heart. It was fun and easy to do. She captured our quest to find the best version of ourselves so beautifully.”
Finding Happy! premieres today Saturday, September 24 on BounceTV and will be available on streaming app Brown Sugar the following day.
