DC League of Super-Pets! Families and single folks, enjoy!
Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, and the rest of The Justice League, are the most iconic superheroes on the planet. Still, even, mostly super-powered, iconic heroes need assistance and we aren’t talking about your traditional sidekicks! We are speaking about their pets! The film debuted at no. 1 at the Box Office raking in $23 million.
Super-Pets To The Rescue!
Superman’s dog, Krypto (Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson), a Kryptonian labrador retriever, gifted with the same powers as The Man of Steel, helps him patrol and keep Metropolis safe. He loves their life but feels it is being disrupted when Superman reveals he will propose to Lois Lane.
He and Superman stop Lex Luthor from reeling in a meteorite rife with orange kryptonite. (Unlike green kryptonite which weakens Kryptonians, the orange one grants earthlings super powers). Surprisingly, a piece is stolen by Lex’s nefarious test guinea pig, Lulu (Kate McKinnon). She uses it to command an army of guinea pigs to overwhelm the Justice League and heads to release Lex from prison! It is up to Krypto to save the day, but he will need some help! Some “super-pet” help!
Coincidentally a group of animals gains their own powers when Lulu unwittingly exposes them to the orange kryptonite. He recruits Ace (Kevin Hart) an earthborn boxer (dog breed) with superhuman strength and invincibility, Streaky a cat who can use explosives and artillery from body traits, Merton a turtle with super speed, PB a pig who can alter her size, and Chip a squirrel with electrokinesis. Together, they unite as The League of Super-Pets, to stop Lulu from freeing Luthor and helping him take over the world!

DC League of Super-Pets is a very family-friendly film. It was a great way for DC Comics and Warner Bros. to introduce a new generation of children to some lesser-known comic book characters. Even if you are not into the “kiddy” aspects of the film; the star-studded voice-over cast will win you over. As we aforementioned, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Kevin Hart, and Kate McKinnon all-star in the film. However, you will also hear the voice talents of Keanu Reeves, Keith David, Daveed Diggs, John Krasinski, and many others!
