Update on PnB Rock Investigation

The Los Angeles Police Department believes that the robbery and murder of PnB are directly linked to social media posts by both the rapper and his companion, Stephanie Sibounheuang.

According to Fox 11 reporter Hailey Winslow, Chief Michael Moore said that the entertainer was targeted due to an Instagram post made by both parties,

“There were actually a couple, one from the rapper himself in the back parking lot when they first got here, giving somebody enough time to get here and kill him, and then another one from his girlfriend when they were sitting at the table,” Winslow said during a live interview.

Following a conversation between Moore and the property manager of Roscoe’s Chicken & Waffles, the police chief concluded,

“[The property manager] confirmed with me that the rapper posted on Instagram in the back parking lot in a Cadillac with his girlfriend telling people that they were here,” he explained during a press conference on Tuesday, September 13.

Moore added,

“[PnB] was in the restaurant for about 45 minutes and then the girlfriend posted an Instagram Story about her food when they were sitting at the table and he, of course, made it clear that people need to be really careful about what they’re putting on social media because you’re putting yourself in a very vulnerable state.”

As previously reported by 360 Baseline, the rapper was robbed and gunned down while at the popular restaurant.

In Remembrance of PnB Rock

Philadelphia rapper PnB Rock was killed in Los Angeles on Monday afternoon according to the Los Angeles Police Captain Kelly Muniz.

The 30-year-old was robbed and shot while at Roscoe’s Chicken and Waffles in South Los Angeles.  Muniz said the shooting took place at 1:15 p.m off Main Street and Manchester Avenue.

She detailed that the suspect wielded a firearm once inside the eatery and proceeded to rob the victim of his jewelry, per The L.A. Times.

“He shot the victim and ran out the side door to a getaway car and then fled the parking lot,” Muniz said.

Once PnB arrived at the hospital, he was pronounced dead at 1:59 p.m.

Born Rakim Allen, the rapper was dining with his girlfriend. After taking pics for Instagram, she reportedly posted the picture and tagged the location; it has since been removed.

What’s Next For The Case?

The LAPD has obtained security footage from inside the restaurant with hopes of identifying the assailant. In addition, nearby businesses will be asked for their surveillance camera footage to assist in the investigation. There has been no additional information released to the public.

The Philly native was known for his hit “Selfish” in 2016 which peaked at No. 51 on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart. He was also featured in Layton Greene’s “Leave ‘Em Alone” featuring Lil Baby and City Girls.

Many fans considered PnB a singer more than a rapper. However, he during a 2017 interview, he admitted that while he was no Chris Brown, he could give a good hook.

“It’s like, what do you label yourself, when you still infuse rap into your s—?”

He added,

“People can’t say I’m a rapper, but I don’t feel like I’m a singer either. I’m not hitting super high notes and going crazy. I can’t give you Chris Brown singing. I just got good melodies.”

He would’ve celebrated his 31st birthday on Dec. 9
