That LeBron reign ain’t ending no time soon…
LeBron James may be trending right now due to his family shoot with Vanity Fair, but his partnership with Netflix will give sports fans some anticipation.
The streaming company dropped the teaser of the upcoming documentary, The Redeem Team. Led by the late Kobe Bryant, Carmelo Anthony, Dwayne Wade, and James, it recounts moments during the 2008 Olympics when the men’s basketball had to prove themselves against Spain and get the gold.
In 2004, the US team’s performance in Sydney, Australia wasn’t as expected given they achieved bronze status. That was the segway to the “redeem team,” hence the name.
Anthony recalled a memory he had of Bryant’s disappointment in player performance saying,
“Kobe said, ‘I’m tired of watching y’all lose.'”
James has a partnership with Netflix similar to that of HBO which houses his hit show, Uninterrupted: The Shop. The documentary is set for release on October 7.
