Tyler Perry’s Zatima Gives Fans A Much Needed Nudge
After actress Crystal Hayslett became a series regular on the hit BET show Sistas, fans found her character, Fatima, to be more grounded most grounded, and level-headed.
Her storyline with co-star Devale Ellis, who plays Zac, immediately garnered its own fandom. Not only were viewers here for Zac moving on from his back-and-forth relationship with Karen (Ebony Obsidian) but what was amazing about the couple’s popularity was how they were evolving as lovers.
In true fashion, a spinoff dedicated to their characters has given added life to BET+ and the show’s creator, Tyler Perry.

What’s good about the show is that Hayslett and Ellis’ on-screen chemistry really motivates viewers to dive back into the dating pool, or keep the spark alive with an existing romance.

Fans will enjoy exploring the couple’s background with hope and anticipation that the couple will be another feel-good example of Black Love illustrated on the small screen.
Recently, the cast of the show hit the red carpet for their premiere party in Atlanta including Cameron Fuller, Guyviaud Joseph, Danielle LaRoach, Nzinga Imani, and Remington Hoffman.
During the event, Ellis and Hayslett were asked how they felt when it came to relationships and nurturing connections.
In our current climate, we still see the decimations of relationships that sometimes renders people questionable, hopeless, or broken.
While on the red carpet, she gave her opinion on the inner workings of relationships and their survival saying,
“A lot of times I think we fall short by not listening to each other [which can lead] to partners not being fulfilled in a relationship.”
Ellis, a former NFLer, gave his take on love after being married to his wife Kahdeen for over 10 years. As a veteran in the marriage game, his advice was simply put,
“For me, I would say you have to want to be in it.”
“You know what, it really all fell into my lap and the right people were aligned,” she said.
“I didn’t imagine this part for my life but people need to know your testimony is supposed to inspire others, not condemn them due to differences, per The Atlanta Voice.
