A Black artist wearing a Black designer — a combination we love to see *chefs kiss*
Ari Lennox. That’s the article. Honestly, there is something about a look that enhances the glow and Miss Ari was shining bright last night on the red carpet of the 50th annual American Music Awards (AMAs).
Styled by Marisa Ellison, who recently styled the songstress for the GQ Men of the Year dinner and the Soul Train Awards, returned to partner with the songstress for another sensual look that exuded confidence and — leaves us hoping this partnership is here to stay for a while.
The songstress wore a blue, deep v-neck, high split dress from Black stylist and designer Jason Rembert’s line Aliétte’s ready-to-wear spring/summer 2023 eveningwear collection.
Rembert is known for leaving us in awe on the red carpet with his iconic moments. From Lizzo, Issa Rae, and Mary J. Blige, Jason Rembert continuously leaves his mark in Hollywood.
In 2018, the Queens native was awarded Designer of the Year by Harlem’s Fashion Row; fast forward to 2022 and Rembert is continuing to make sure his predominately Black clientele dazzle and makes a statement on every red carpet, performance, and editorial appearance.
Excellence. In a world where Black people have to work ten times harder to get to where they want in life, little moments like these where we see celebs like Ari Lennox outwardly radiating with confidence — and in a Jason Rembert original, make a difference.
When asked by Essence Magazine what her affirmation to herself was, the artist simply said, “I’m that b***h.”
…we couldn’t agree more.
