Set in 1994, Earth once again finds itself in the crosshairs of another battle between the Transformers. However, this time the ‘bot in question desires to “eat” the planet itself. The Autobots alone will not be enough to take on a threat of this proportion, forcing an unlikely alliance spanning species, planets, and factions.
“’Til all are one” is the motto when life in the universe hangs in the balance in Transformers: Rise of The Beasts!
Who is Unicron?
Thousands of years ago; Unicron, a planet-sized Transformer seeks the transwarp drive, an ancient artifact and piece of advanced technology, that will allow him to transport himself instantly anywhere in the universe and consume life-rich planets.
Who are The Maximals?
The original Maximals, from the hit nineties CGI animated series, Transformers: Beast Wars, were the distant descendants of The Autobots who won The Great War against the Decepticons. They transform into various animals instead of vehicles like their ancestors. In the film, however, their team consists of Airazor a female transformer who is a hawk, Rhinox a rhinoceros, Cheetos, a cheetah, and their leader, Optimus Primal, a gorilla–use the transwarp drive to traverse time and space to ancient Earth to escape.
However, they only manage to bring their battle to Earth, encountering The Autobots (Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Mirage, and Arcee) and their unwitting human allies, Noah Diaz (Anthony Ramos) and Elena (Dominique Fishback).Things really heat up when Unicron sends his most powerful soldier, Scourge, and his Terrorcon minions upping the timetable to Earth becoming the next planet on the world devouring robot’s menu!
What is next for the Transformers franchise?
This is by far the best installment of The Transformers franchise, showcasing we have barely scratched the surface of the Transformers Universe. Adding Unicron into the mix gives an “inevitable” and menacing feeling similar to the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s build up to Thanos. Also, with the surprise appearance a new heroic force in the Transformers Universe we may end up with some characters just as iconic as our shapeshifting robots!
