Well, if Usher wants you to know he’s engaged, you’ll know!
Gospel icon Kirk Franklin’s wife, Tammy, took to her Instagram story revealing that Usher is engaged. The picture uploaded shows the Franklins alongside the entertainer and his companion, Epic records executive Jennifer Goicoechea.
Tammy’s congratulatory post said,
“Getting to know @Usher up close. And to see him come to this place in his career [and] having a residency in Las Vegas is huge! So proud of him!”
She then ensured that the 43-year-old has put a ring on it to anyone interested,
“Ladies, he’s taken! This is his beautiful fiance @BoogsnEffect. Thank you for being so gorgeous and kind!”
If the news is indeed true, this won’t be the first time the ladies’ man has been married. He first married Tameka Foster in 2007 and later divorced in 2009. The couple welcomed two boys, Usher Raymond V and Naviyd Ely Raymond from their union.
The Grammy winner then found romance and married entertainment businesswoman Grace Harry in 2015. They later split in 2018. During their marriage, Usher faced scandal for allegedly spreading the herpes virus to three people without their knowledge.
He faced three lawsuits from two females and one male that claimed to have been intimate with the entertainer.
Usher and Goicochea have reportedly been together since 2019. The couple shares two children together, a boy and girl, Sovereign Bo Raymond and Sire Castrello Raymond. Either way, he’s proven that he can move on without recourse.
Thinking of getting engaged and controlling how and when you announce it? Check out these three tips for strategy per Brides below:
- Keep Your Circle Small: You minimize the theatrics by telling only your closest friends and family members before taking it to social media. Take time to enjoy your fiancé and communicate as to how and when you’d like to reveal the news. You can deliver the exciting moment collectively or individually but within the same time frame. This eliminates anyone feeling left out.
- Get Off The ‘Gram, Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat & Tik Tok After Announcing: Look, we get it! You want to share with your followers on social apps. However, make it unique when you share it with the world. Do it when you’re emotionally ready to receive congratulatory remarks like, “Oh my gosh? Did he get the ring from KAY Jewelers or Tiffany’s? Or “Dang bro, so somebody took you off the market because I remember when you used to…” After going public, exit stage left for a few days to avoid endless chatter.
- Tell No One: If you believe you and your companion may want a small wedding, there’s no need for major announcements outside of your immediate circle. Another route is to simply announce it when you send out the invitations. This may be a shock to your invitees, but you’re in control of how you celebrate your pending nuptials.
