Wendy Williams’ brother, Tommy, claims his sister is “fighting and struggling” with her health.

He uploaded a video on his YouTube page detailing why the famed talk-show host isn’t who she used to be, per The Jasmine Brand.

“I’m very supportive of Wendy so I tried to keep things under wraps in terms of her health,” he said retracting earlier statements that his sister’s health was better than it actually is. “She is fighting, she is struggling. She is working her way back to being Wendy,” he said. “No, she is not the Wendy we all knew and it’s very sad, very heart-wrenching, very disappointing, and it’s very frustrating.”

The concerned sibling explained that his sister hasn’t been accessible to other family members. He mentioned an interview she recently had with TMZ where she told hosts Harvey Levin and Charles Latibeaudiere about her battle with lymphedema and a speech impediment.

Despite his request that his sister not do the interview and preserve her privacy, Williams did so with transparency. Tommy pleaded how “badly” he wants to be there for his sister, but is unable to do so.

“It’s not because Wendy and I are not in a good space because we are, but mentally she’s not on board. Oppositionally, she doesn’t want me near because she realizes that I’m here to help and I might have some validity to a lot of things I’m trying to push on her. So, therefore, she pushes me away,” he said.

Nearing its end, the younger sibling urged fans to pray for his sister’s health. After reports surfaced surrounding Williams’ health prior to taping the 13th season of The Wendy Williams Show, the daytime show brought in roundtables of celebrity hosts. Eventually, it would be her last season.

Comedian and actress Sherri Shepherd will now continue the show’s platform as host with a new name.

Back in May, Shepherd took to Instagram Live where a viewer asked if she thought Williams was “bitter” about how everything played out since her health issues began.

“She’s not well. It’s just a lot going on in Wendy’s life,” Shepherd responded.

She continued,

“She’s by herself. It’s not like she’s got her husband Kevin. She’s by herself. The only person that she has that’s taking care of her is her 21-year-old son Kevin Jr., and he’s 21.”

The comedian and TV host ended her comments with,

“All I can do over here is pray for Wendy.”
