The reality television curse on marriages seemingly continues. Its latest victim being the marriage of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta’s” (RHOA) Kim Zolciak-Biermann and her former NFL linebacker husband, Kroy Biermann! Earlier today, Kim filed for divorce from Kroy.
Why are Kim Zolciak Biermann and Kroy Biernann getting a divorce?
Kim and Kroy have been married for eleven years and have five beautiful children together. Kroy actually adopted her two oldest children from previous relationships, Brielle and Ariana. Together, they have Kroy Jr., Kash, and twins, Kaia and Kane.
The couple have seemed to have a strong relationship, shouldering through reality television-related drama, accusations of racism, and now serious financial difficulties. The latter is believed to be the reason Kim has filed for divorce.

Last fall, the Bravo star and Biermann reportedly defaulted on a $1.65 million loan on their Fulton County, Georgia, home. People reported that Truist Bank would auction off the property in March of 2023, but Zolciak-Biermann remained defiant, saying on an Instagram post, “Ok you guys, my house has not sold for $257,000… If you guys think I would let my home that we’ve put millions and millions of dollars into go for $257,000, you’re an idiot, okay? For real.”
The Alpharetta, Georgia, house is estimated to be worth $2.4 million by RedFin, which also indicates that it sold for $880,000 on October 23, 2012.
In Kim’s filing she listed their cause of divorce as being “irretrievably broken with no hope of reconciliation.” She is also seeking primary custody of their children.
Kim Zolciak-Biermann to appear in Season 15 of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta”
Based on sneak peeks of the fifteenth season of RHOA, Kim is set to make some appearances alongside the current cast starring Kandi Burruss, Sheree Whitfield, Kenya Moore, Marlo Hampton, Drew Sidora, and Sonya Richards-Ross.
We are not sure if any of her marital problems will play out on the show, however, it may be a smart move to get back on the show and generate income to pay off her massive debt. Kroy, as you may recall, was not a fan of being on the show or dealing with the shenanigans brought on by the rest of the cast.
We are wishing both parties the best of luck!
