Move over Fast & Furious, Quavo’s bout to show out.

It was announced in April that rapper Quavo would headline the upcoming movie, Takeover. The action-themed film is centered on Atlanta’s street racing culture. Shooting will begin in August in the Peach State. While this will be his first feature film, the Atlanta native has appeared on shows such as  Black-ish, Narcos: Mexico, and Atlanta.

“I’m really excited for this opportunity, especially shooting in my hometown of Atlanta,” Quavo said. “This film is an ideal opportunity to further delve into my craft, and I can’t wait to see how the action plays out in this animated environment.”

He will play a parolee, Guy Miller, working to rebuild his life. However, old habits return pushing leading him back to his past amid the streets of Atlanta’s racing community.

Quavo’s label, Quality Control, will assist with production under Quality Films. Trioscope, which had a hand in Netflix’s The Liberator, is also attached to the project.

The two companies developed a partnership enabling them to co-produce a series of scripted projects in the future.

Trioscope’s CEO and co-founder, L.C. Crowley, said their collaboration will use a “unique approach” to building their audience.

“We’re able to transcend traditional storytelling and immerse viewers into the elaborate, fast-paced world of street takeovers,” he said.

QC films’ Brian Sher added, “We’re thrilled to deliver an unparalleled edge-of-your-seat ride that will introduce many viewers to a world they never knew existed.”

What’s unique about the Takeover project is that it will be introduced into the Web3 community. Dubbed the Takeover World, the film’s franchise will merge entertainment and crypto for fans.

In addition, for those a part of the NFT (non-fungible tokens) community, the Takeover Universe will give fans exclusive incentives. This includes direct access to set visuals, party invites, and an opportunity to be an extra via 3D.

“This project is the future of movie-making,” the Migos frontman said. “It gets fans involved at the onset of Takeover World, the opportunity to own a piece of a new franchise and the ability to influence and be part of how an action feature gets made.”

As for upcoming projects, the entertainer is set to appear in the thriller Wash Me in the River, per The Fader. Quavo will star alongside heavy hitters John Malkovich and Robert DeNiro.
